Micromobility for first and last mile access to public transport: institutional perspectives from Perth, WA

The rapid uptake of small electric personal mobility devices, collectively referred to as micromobility, has created a challenge for planners, policymakers and regulators seeking mitigate externalities integrate these modes into urban transport systems. First last mile access high frequency reliable public been identified one area that micromobility can contribute. However, successfully address the first problem, requires supportive institutions across system spaces constitute access. Using Perth, Western Australia case study, this research draws on Delphi Survey with planners policymakers, exploring institutional dimension micromobility. shows should focus broader eco-system rules, regulations practices contribute access, paying attention spatial social context cities. Key issues enhancing in are connectivity safety, both users other road street users.
